Visual communication - 

Everywhere we go we are hit by visual communication strategies. We don't even normally notice the obvious messages that are shoved down our throats on a daily bases. Fashion is a main culprit of force feeding us messages , sometimes not on purpose , but everywhere we go there are messages that we identify and question. 

This appears very often in fashion. Fashion is a message of self expression and a way of showing the world who your are without speaking. Maybe this is why fashion is so important in the modern age we live in. From looking at a person and how they choose to represent themselves with fashion we can gain SO much information that helps us identify aspects of a persons life such as their lifestyle choices , occupation,  social class , their religion and attitudes towards society and its structure.

When we get dressed we create a look that we feel best represents who we choose to be. However we don't normally pick up on the connotations that are attached to these clothes , for example whiles picking a red pair of shoes to wear do you purposefully wear them with the intention of giving of a message of lust , danger or sexual desire? We are constantly making decisions that communicate visually to the people we meet in passing everyday. Subliminal messages and controversial images are constantly making headlines around the world for grasping the attention of millions. We rarely ever question these messages as we are so used to seeing them , we constantly turn a blind eye to the visual communication strategies that we are shown everyday without notice. 

So if you've ever wondered what visual communication is , the answer is everything. Visual communication is everything , especially in the day and age that we live in where we are finding new and exciting ways to express ourselves visually. Visual communication is all around us.
